The final results from the Club West Masters meet were finally posted online. The only thing I wasn’t really sure of was my 200 time, which turned out to be 25.78. There’s a formula that says you can determine your 200 time by doubling your 100 meter time and adding 1 second, and that’s almost exactly what I did!
I missed the All-American standard by a quarter of a second. Considering how slowly I started and the fact that I did no training for this distance, that is something I may try and target next year.
I also learned that the final guy I killed myself trying to pass wasn’t even in my age group. He was only 35!
I only ended up with video of 3 events…shot put, long jump, and the 200 meters. Here it is: Santa Barbara 2009
I have read many of your posts, and am appreciative of your dedication and your journey. I understand your motivation (isn’t that what families are for?)
and it’s a tremendous idea to record how it all unfolds here.
Sending encouragement!
